Edmonds Eye Associates is a unique optometric practice that provides specialty eye care along with traditional vision and eye care services. Founded in 1985, the practice evolved from the work of the principals at Wills Eye Hospital and Lankenau Hospital. Doctor Susan Edmonds, the first Optometrist at Wills Eye and founder of the Low Vision Service, combined with Dr. Scott Edmonds and his work as a specialty contact lens optometrist at Lankenau created the first independent hospital-based optometry practice in the Delaware Valley. They added routine eye care and optical services as well as young optometric associates that had been outstanding student externs with the practice.

In 2011, after a year working with the Native American population in Alaska, Dr. Ryan Edmonds joined the practice to head up the specialty contact lens service. This provided Dr Scott an opportunity to work with Magee Rehabilitation Hospital and the Jefferson Comprehensive Concussion Center to add vision rehabilitation services for concussion, stroke, and brain injury to the practice.

In 2017, Dr. Chad Edmonds joined the practice after completing his training at Salus University with a special interest in vision related brain injury and vision problems related to concussion, stroke, and mTBI.

Now, with a full-service optometric practice providing routine and specialty eye care, we offer a full array of services in four locations in the Delaware Valley.
